About Haiku-It!

To understand Haiku-It!, we must first understand the concept of a haiku…

In simple terms a haiku is a short non-rhyming Japanese poem that in English at least is created using just seventeen syllables, written across three lines. The first line has five syllables, second line has seven syllables, and the third line has five syllables.

A haiku by its structure limits you to only the most essential words. This is where the idea of Haiku-It! came from. To ‘haiku-it’ means to apply the limiting structure of the haiku to modern concepts, and daily life, to keep it short, simple, and to the point, without the waffle.

Note: The idea is to condense and simplify concepts using the limiting structure of haiku. The focus is not on art of writing beautiful haikus.

About me

I’m dyslexic – my spelling isn’t great – I can’t count syllables properly – this might be a bad idea!

My idea

Internet = so much to read, so much  to process, so much to understand, so little time.

Solution = create a website where everything is limited to seventeen syllables, give or take…
